When a disaster threatens or strikes, the city is committed to providing timely and efficient emergency services to its residents. When necessary, the city’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) will be activated to serve as central location for public information and coordination and response of recovery activities.
Emergency Information updates are also provided on the city's website, Facebook, and local news outlets.
If a Disaster Strikes, Are You Ready?
The city recognizes the importance of providing information to help its citizens prepare in the event of a disaster. The Washington State Emergency Resource Guide serves as a comprehensive guide for planning and preparation for floods, storms, power outages, and earthquakes, as well as suggested lists for emergency and medical supplies.
It also provides guidance for protecting vulnerable populations such as children, the elderly, those with special needs, and pets.
