Police Department Responsibilities

The Duvall - Carnation Police Department is responsible for police services within the city limits of Duvall and Carnation. The Department is manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Being a local department gives the officers a very quick response time when assistance is needed. The Department is comprised of a chief, a commander, 13 full time officers (4 sergeants and 9 patrol officers), a reserve officer, a full time records manager and a full-time clerk.

Some officers specialize in specific aspects of law enforcement, such as Crime Prevention, DARE, Field Training, Evidence Collection, Traffic Accident investigation, and Bicycle Patrol. Each aspect requires specialized training.

With regrets to all patch collectors: "Our uniforms are paid for by public funds. By the recommendation of the state auditor we are not able to sell, trade, or give away any of our department issued items."
