WASHINGTON STATE EDUCATION TASK FORCE IDENTIFIES ARTS EDUCATION AS A PRIORITY
Washington State Governor Gregoire's Washington Learns Task Force is charged with examining the state education system and offering ways to ensure a world-class education for all students. The task force has identified creativity and arts education as a priority area for reform in their draft report. Next, public input will be solicited regarding the recommendations and potential strategies associated with this reform, including increasing funding for the arts, revising curriculum, and improved teacher training and preparation in arts education.
